A 2020 TEDx Minneapolis Film: "A Dream of Touch When Touch Is Gone"

Not so long ago, touch was easy and safe—then everything changed. We come from the most intimate possible space, the womb, into a caregiver’s arms. A human embrace is possibly the most symbolic image of love, care, and hope for the future. The COVID-19 winter has brought death and another casualty—the loss of touch. When we lose this form of connection, do we lose compassion and even our own humanity? Touch is essential. We need it to be human. Let's dream of touching again. 

This video includes a new film by Minneapolis, MN based dance company Black Label Movement and a "making of" short about the COVID bubble Black Label Movement designed with Dr. Jon Hallberg to responsibly allow masks to be removed and physical contact to take place during the filming process.

La CASA (Center for Arts, Self-determination, and Activism) is a transformative $33 million initiative by Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción (IBA) in Boston's South End.This four-story facility will consolidate IBA's diverse programs—including affordable housing, education, financial empowerment, and arts—under one roof, enhancing access and community outreach.Supported by a $20 million New Markets Tax Credits allocation and $12 million in tax-exempt bond financing led by TD Bank, La CASA exemplifies a strategic partnership aimed at fostering socio-economic mobility.Upon its anticipated completion in 2026, La CASA is projected to serve over 2,500 individuals annually through resident services and youth development, with an additional 5,000 benefiting from its arts programming, reinforcing its role as a beacon for Latino culture and community empowerment in Boston.

ArtsHERE Grant Spotlight: The Welman Project (Fort Worth, Texas)
